What do I do if my power goes out? 

While E.L.K. Energy Inc. always does our best to provide constant reliable service, it is not a guarantee as there are factors that are out of our control. If your power has gone out please call us to report the outage:

If you are having a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately.

Remember, if you see a downed power line stay at least 10 metres away from it and call us and local emergency services immediately.

What do I do if my power flickers? 

A momentary power outage (sometimes called a power flicker or momentary interruption) is a very short loss of electricity, typically lasting from a fraction of a second up to a few seconds. This can happen when the electrical system automatically detects a fault - like a tree branch brushing a power line, lightning, or equipment issues - and protective devices (such as reclosers or circuit breakers) quickly interrupt and then restore power. The momentary interruption prevents long-term damage to equipment and keeps a small, temporary fault from causing a larger, prolonged outage.
